How We Grow
Phoenix Gardens believes in the true meaning of sustainability. We operate our farm in the belief that we need to be good environmental stewards, be a productive asset of our community and not least of all, be financially viable to enable our farm and family to prosper.
This belief only strengthened after our devastating fire and is steeped not only in our subsequent rebuilding efforts but in our interactions with our customers, fellow farmers and fellow local food system stakeholders.
Phoenix Gardens begin in 2005 as a mind relaxing hobby that quickly transformed into a small, urban farm. We quickly learned that people in our community wanted fresh locally grown food as much as we did and we began to take the steps to make sure we could provide it. While we were living in New York, we had no idea that we were soon to embark on an amazing journey that would take us from humble backyard gardeners to part of a growing social movement.
Meet Our Team
Phoenix Gardens is a family business where we work together to grow great locally grown food.
During his career in information technology, Brennan used gardening as a method of stress relief. Little did he know that he would become a full fledged farmer. Brennan handles all aspects of farm management including crop planning, planting and harvesting. His major job is to develop and refine the vision for our gardens and make it happen
Brennan is also works extensively to help support local food systems not only in Georgia but throughout the southeast. Brennan has sat on the boards of Georgia Organics, Southern SARE and the Georgia Food Policy Council. He is the founder of the Georgia Farmers Market Association and is currently the Southeastern Outreach Coordinator for Southern SARE where he works with 1890 universities, non-profits working with farmers and directly with farmers to advocate for sustainable agriculture.
Gwendolyn handles all of the sales and customer relations for Phoenix Gardens. With over 30 years experience in customer service, Gwendolyn loves to chat up folks about locally grown food. She also manages our laying flock, making sure our girls are happy and laying wholesome eggs. And she oversees the operations on most harvest days.
Gwendolyn is always at the farmers markets we attend and she would love to sell you some of our wholesome, sustainably grown food.
We couldn’t run Phoenix Gardens without ToJuan. He loves to do many of the little detail oriented things that keep a farm running like repairing drip irrigation and building raised beds and hauling mulch and compost around the farm. An accomplished artist, Tojuan enjoys painting and drawing in his spare time.
This is should be a prospective customer's number one call to action, e.g., requesting a quote or perusing your product catalog.
