CSA Pickup for 5/5

Posted 5/3/2012 8:16pm by Brennan Washington.

Phoenix Gardens & Wing and A Prayer are busy places these days.  We start the day feeding the chickens and watering the gardens and the fields.  The fields are checked out and the tasks for the day are on. We have been steady planting but this week because the weather has been hi 80’s it has been tough we hope it will stabilize soon. Tojuan & Brennan are also putting in irrigation up at WP on the weekends cause hand watering is not and option up there. We are working on a irrigation source for PG as well.

Our apologies for last week with the Red Choi it was not in the greatest of shape but I did the best I could to get the bugs out. And this week the cabbage may have a few slugs in them but again we don't spray with and pesticides so please understand. When mulching so the weeds don't come through the slugs love the moist soil so we are learning as we go.

I will be changing the pickup location for this week and next week. The Brookhaven Farmers will be starting this weekend 9am til 12 or 1pm I'm not sure so I'll see Y'all there unless you let me know otherwise.
